Follow-up Safety Memo:

from Carl Potter, CSP, CMC

Working to increase awareness to prevent workplace injuries.
This is a follow-up to the last memo concerning the issue of electrically insulated gloves.

In the past week, I have received many e-mails from several expressing more information related to my memo.  Additionally, another source of information in solving issues related to gloves has come to surface.  In a phone conversation with Jeff Morris, President of Salisbury, he had encouraging words.

Salisbury is now owned by Honeywell and they are committed to the issues of quality, quantity and the quest for safety in electrical work.  Jeff invites you to e-mail his team with your comments about rubber gloves, sleeves, line hoses, blankets and other products made by Salisbury.  They can be reached at: customerservice@whsalisbury.com

As many of you know, Salisbury has been in the electrical safety business long enough to be a "household name" in the industry.  As I state in one of my books, Safety Is A Team Sport and it takes everyone working together to create a workplace where everyone can go home to their families every day without an injury.  Your role in this issue is to share much needed information. Salisbury is ready to listen and respond.

Remember this...
You can have all the protective equipment, personal protective equipment and procedures available, but the responsibility to inspect it, wear it and care for it is ultimately yours.

Thanks again, and Be Safe!
